I got up and took a much needed shower and we headed out to an area called Islington to the Little Angels Theatre to see The Tempest. We decided to head there a little bit early to explore the surrounding area. I am so glad we did because we found the CUTEST stores, all of which were far to expensive for me but I now know where I will shop when I am rich, famous, and living in London. It was so fun just walking around window shopping with my roommates. The weather is WONDERFUL right now. It has yet rained and it has been consistently sunny and warm.
We decided to grab some food from this hole in the wall restaurant that served kabobs. Delicious and cheap! We took that with us to the park right next to the theatre. The theatre was adorable right of the alley named Dagmar Passage. Here is a picture of the alley.
And the theatre...
and my ticket to see the greatest puppet show I have ever seen!
Can I just say that I adored this production. It really was proof that Shakespeare was meant to be performed, not read. The whole thing was done by 7 actors. All of the "magical" creatures from the islands were these amazing puppets! Not like the sock puppets I was imagining that is for sure. The acting was great. They also incorporated singing and musical instruments which really added to the show. All of which was done by the actors meaning they were acting, singing, playing instruments, and puppetering. If only I could be so talented. I cannot wait to discuss is in class on Monday.
After the show we decided to go to the pub where a live band was playing, if I remember correctly they were called "Jimmy and the Blues Brothers" or something like that. Anyway it was way fun! We met some really nice people and heard some great live music. The lead singer, Jimmy I am assuming, came up and introduced himself and gave us his card, I am really glad we went. We also found out that they have an opera house in the back of this pub so we are thinking about going to see a show their which I think will be great.
On our way home we were given flowers from some random guy on the street, I would say it was a successful day. Time to go to bed. I am really excited for tomorrow. Seeing as we don't have church till one tomorrow I plan on waking up and reading my scriptures in Hyde Park, doesn't that sound wonderful for a Sunday morning? Goodnight all and until tomorrow.
